At the creek Peter, Johnny, and I found a gigantic wolf spider! It came out of a crawfish's hole when we were trying to catch a crawfish. Wolf spiders attach their egg sacks to their spinnerets and they carry their young too when the eggs hatch. They do not spin webs as most spiders do, but they hunt for small insects. They are often confused with the venomous Brown Recluse spider but they do not have the violin shape that the recluses have right behind their heads. They do bite, but their bites, although sometimes irritating to skin, are not dangerous.
